all’s well that ends in wellness
How come you’re always tired until it’s actually time to lay down and go to bed and then suddenly you’re wide awake? AnyBuddy else have that problem? Buehler? Buehler? Anyways, it’s another beautiful day here in the desert wild. Oh, I just love California! (name that movie) No, I actually really do. I always have. It’s a great state. Good job, Guvnuhh! You get a little bit of everything here. A little hint of spiciness. Like a little hint of soy sauce. A little hint of the tomato. A little hint of the spice. You know.

The desert is beautiful though. I’m in absolute awe of the terrain. The way the sunrise paints the landscape as it comes up over the Panamint Mountains (yes, I was correct!) every morning is my motivation for waking up at the crack of dawn lately. Truly a sight to behold. There’s even a site round these here parts called The Artist’s Palette that confirms this handiwork of God’s. I haven’t been to it yet, but it’s there, on my long list of to-do. There’s a lot to see.
I took a stroll over the weekend and tumbleweeded across the Furnace Creek Visitor Center. Here I was thinking it was just gonna be some little hut on the side of the road (too many movies). Color me surprised when I walk up and it’s a legit center, a rest stop, a gift shop, an information desk, and whole mini-museum all in one! Astounded. I mean who doesn’t love a day at the museum?
All these pics I actually got on the way out. I’ve been very consciously doing this thing where I just want to be in the moment. Like I know pictures are important, especially being the former Lemme Get a Picture of This Queen, because it is nice to look back on the memory and be like, yea that was dope. But at the same time, it’s equally as important to savor the moment. Sometimes it’s nice to keep some things for yourself. But after I walked through and saw all the cool exhibits and books and souvenirs, I was like, nah lemme get some snaps for The People!
At the entrance to the exhibits.
And of course this was the only pic I took of the initial walk through. But after you pass here, there’s a wall of the history of Death Valley, “the hottest place in the world,” & interactive video guiding you a bit more in depth, followed by more installations of animals and artifacts, and the climate & weather, minerals and mining, tips for survival for campers and wayfarers and anyone else passing through, especially in high heat season. And then just as I was exiting, I was like, I feel like I missed something. My ancestors must have been calling to me because when I turned back around, I sure enough almost did: the history of the indigenous people to the region, the Timbisha Shoshone.

I’m definitely going to have to come back and give y’all a more in depth tour. I know you’ll love it just as much as I did.
As a sauntered over to the shop area complete with guides and goodies and gifts, my attention went immediately to the books. This one in particular caught my eye.
If you don’t know your history, your life will be a mystery
And then of course I had to pick up the book about tracking constellations, and I kid you not, I did the little page flip thingy as you hold the side & let the pages flip like you’re shuffling a deck of cards (you know what I’m talking about) and when I stopped and opened it up, this is the page it landed on.
!!!
If you read my book and/or been following this journey for the last 4 years, then you already know wtf time it is!!
And I just had to chuckle and leave it at that because God really do be hilarious. He get on my nerves, but He definitely got a sense of humor so it makes up for it. After working up an appetite, I called my chauffeur to come get me. There was no way I was walking back in this heat! He had the butler prepare some tea in the library with my property lawyer as we discussed this drawn out battle over my inheritance. I mean seriously, if we don’t wrap this up expeditiously, I am going to be very angry. And you don’t want to see me angry 👿
Join me for a cuppuuhhh
Lunch was served on the patio overlooking the pool and the West garden oasis
We also have another garden oasis to the northeast but I think I showed you that pic already. I don’t want to bore you.
So, here’s a pic of the servant’s grounds. We take good care of our people.
After lunch I was completely useless and went back to my wing, took a nice hot bath, and called the masseuse to relax me. All’s well that ends in wellness! Then I curled up in bed to finish watch Task. Yes, it was delightful. Tom Pelphrey & Mark Ruffalo, bravo! And the young gal who played the niece. She was great too. Everyone was wonderful, but I shall save my critiques for another day. I know you all don’t care so you I shall spare. I only had one more episode to watch so I turned on a scary movie and frightened myself right to sleep. 😝
Speaking of sleep, I think it is about that time to call it. ‘Twas another beautiful day here in the Valley. Extremely windy. But absolutely gorgeous nevertheless. Kinda like youuuuu.
Anywho! That’s all she wrote for tonight, My Pretties. I hope wherever you are, you too are having a grand old time and making it everything you want it to be. You could be anywhere in the world, but here you are. With me. And I love that for you. And I love that for me. Have a fabulous rest of your week, and an exciting weekend. As ever and as always, thank you for being a true friend. See you same place next week, yea? Stay blessed, EveryBuddy, and God speed!
Love Always (& besitos!)
Smiling at you from mi corazón
